Where will this course lead?

Appreciating the importance of the ever-evolving digital landscape and understanding how to develop skills, you will learn how to improve digital marketing effectiveness. This module provides awareness of the nature of the challenges and opportunities within the digital environment and outlines the skills and tools required to support and enhance marketing activities. It identifies the importance of effective digital monitoring and measurement techniques that enable organisations to improve digital marketing effectiveness performance.

 

It is a flexible route and can be taken individually or combined with the Integrated Communications Award and Marketing Award to achieve the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing.

The Award is aimed at those who are working in supporting marketing roles, usually within the marketing function, but also targets individuals in more senior roles, particularly in SMEs, where marketing is only part of their role.

The typical profiles of people who might take this qualification could include:

- Marketing assistants
- Marketing co-ordinators
- Marketing executives
- Marketing managers without formal marketing qualifications
- Existing marketers wanting to become more specialist.

What will I study?

Unit 1: The digital landscape

the opportunities and challenges presented through the disruptive digital environment
the impact and influence of the dynamic digital environment

Unit 2: Digital toolkit

how key digital tools can support and enhance marketing
the relevance of digital platforms and channels in context

Unit 3: Digital in action

digital activities to support and enhance multichannel marketing
the key principles involved in monitoring and measuring digital marketing effectiveness.

How will this course be delivered?

The course runs over one term

Classes are one evening per week

Classes are interactive, involving the tutor's presentation of key concepts, followed by group work and discussion.

Students are expected to research marketing concepts and practice, as well as preparing for assignments and exams outside the classroom.

What qualifications will I get?

CIM Level 4 Award in Digital Marketing

How will I be assessed?

A work-based assignment broken down to research, plan and report

How do I get a place on the course?

Places are offered by interview or telephone interview and depend on your qualifications/ work experience.

What are the entry requirements?

To qualify for this course you will need to meet at least one of these criteria:

Any relevant level 3 qualification, any Bachelors degree, CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing, International Baccalaureate.

PLUS - At least one year in a marketing role.

If English is not your first language, you will need to provide us with evidence of at least IELTS 6.5 proficiency or Trinity ISE III/IV.
If you have learning difficulty or disability please let us knows when you apply. You will be offered support at your interview.

What can I do after this course?

Successful candidates can progress to the other modules on the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing or if you have already taken these you can progress to the Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing.
