Where will this course lead?

The Customer Service Apprenticeship caters for individuals who are working or considering working in a customer facing role to learn and develop the wide range of skills they need to provide the high quality service that customers and employers expect and value.

What will I study?

The valuable customer Service Skills and Knowledge required for working effectively in a customer focused environment. You will also study a variety of personal learning and thinking skills which will assist you in developing a wealth of transferable skills. Communication and Application of Number also feature along with employment rights and responsibilities.

How will this course be delivered?

Following a detailed induction the course will be delivered at your place of work although you will be expect to invest some of your own time to your study.

What qualifications will I get?

NVQ Diploma in Customer Service (QCF)

How will I be assessed?

Your allocated Assessor will assess you in the workplace using a variety of methods including observation, discussion, work products and questioning. You will also complete workbooks and online examinations.

How do I get a place on the course?

You will need to be employed in a customer service role. This can be existing employment or a position which you have applied for via the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS).

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants will need to have good communication skills, enjoy working with people and be committed to providing excellent customer service.

Details of previous work experience, prior achievement and the scope of an individual's job role enables learners to embark on the Apprenticeship best suited to their development needs.

What else do I need to know?

You will receive support and guidance from your allocated Assessor throughout your Apprenticeship and will follow an Individual Learning Plan tailored to your own career aspirations.

What can I do after this course?

Advanced apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto:

A Higher Level Apprenticeship programme in Contact Centre Management, Business & Professional Administration or Leadership & Management

Further or higher education to undertake customer service, business related or other qualifications, including Foundation Degrees in, Contact Centres, Retail Management, Business Management or Hospitality

A range of Customer Service and other Professional Qualifications, including a Level 4 Diploma in Customer Service Management, a Level 4 Diploma in Contact Centres, or a Foundation Degree in Contact Centre Management.

With additional training, Advanced Apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles including senior customer service supervisor, customer service manager, and a range of other senior customer service related roles.
