Where will this course lead?

This module aims to enable understanding of the importance of effective internal and external communications in building sustainable relationships and delivering customer value.

It provides the opportunity to recognise the importance of communications planning in delivering marketing solutions.

It explains how the concept of product and brand management can enable organisations to deliver customer value. It outlines the components of the marketing communications mix and enables understanding of integrated marketing communications (IMC) planning.

It is a flexible route and can be taken individually or combined with the Marketing Award and one elective Award to achieve the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing.

The Award is aimed at those who are working in supporting marketing roles, usually within the marketing function, but also targets individuals in more senior roles, particularly in SMEs, where marketing is only part of their role.

The typical profiles of people who might take this qualification could include:

- Marketing assistants
- Marketing co-ordinators
- Marketing executives
- Marketing managers without formal marketing qualifications
- Existing marketers wanting to become more specialist.

How will this course be delivered?

The course runs over one term.

Classes are one evening per week.

Classes are interactive, involving the tutor's presentation of key concepts, followed by group work and discussion.

Students are expected to research marketing concepts and practice, as well as preparing for assignments and exams outside the classroom.

What qualifications will I get?

CIM Level 4 Award in Integrated Marketing

How will I be assessed?

An assignment, based on a given scenario and an organisation of choice.

How do I get a place on the course?

Places are offered by interview or telephone interview and depend on your qualifications/ work experience.

What are the entry requirements?

To qualify for this course you will need to meet at least one of these criteria:

Any relevant level 3 qualification, any Bachelors degree, CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing, International Baccalaureate.

PLUS - At least one year in a marketing role.

If English is not your first language, you will need to provide us with evidence of at least IELTS 6.5 proficiency or Trinity ISE III/IV.
If you have learning difficulty or disability please let us knows when you apply. You will be offered support at your interview.

What can I do after this course?

Successful candidates can progress to the other modules on the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing or if you have already taken these you can progress to the Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing
