Course Description

The apprenticeship is an accredited learning and development programme designed to
advance people wanting to work in the Events sector. Typical daily jobs consist of searching for the right location and venue for the event; working with the design team on the look and feel of the event or organising logistics like transportation and catering.

Event assistants are enthusiastic and able to have good communication with stakeholders as well as patience in dealing with third parties. They are able to work effectively within a team and contribute positive ideas to discussions. Competent job-holders are able to adapt themselves to different environments and always show respect to others.

OFF THE JOB LEARNING

JGA run a blended learning programme for Event Assistant apprentices. Core to
the programme are a series of monthly face to face workshops led by an events
professional with broad and deep practical experience. This is supplemented by
a broad range of online learning and other off the job activities.

INTEGRATED WORK-BASED LEARNING

Our industry leading approach to work based learning not
only ensures that apprentices remain engaged throughout
their programme, it also ensures that the knowledge and
skills they develop are quickly applied within the workplace.

Behaviours are embedded and skills and knowledge improve-
ment delivers a rapid return on training investment.

ASSESSMENT

The apprenticeship is made up of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours which will be assessed through both off the job training and workplace visits. Monthly work- shops focus on Knowledge modules. Learners acquire Skills and Behaviours both in the workplace and during workshops and will be expected to apply these to the job role. Formal Quarterly Progress Reviews demonstrate understanding and when necessary result in additional support. When sufficient progress is made learners go to Gateway.

Research carried out by the National Apprenticeship Service shows:
• Apprentices boost profitability: 78% of employers say productivity in their workplace improved as a result of apprenticeship training.
